There are nearly 25 species of Scorpions in the Nevada area. With the Bark Scorpion being the most venomous. Scorpions primarily live off of crickets and cockroaches and although their venomous sting can be painful, deaths in the United States are rare. Scorpions range in size from 9 mm / .3 inches, they have eight legs and can be recognized by their pair of grasping pedipalps and tail that curves over their back, having a venomous stinger. Scorpions are nocturnal and fossorial, they find shelter in the day underneath rocks or in holes, coming out at night to hunt and feed.
